La Fonda on the Plaza is proud of our 100-year reputation for maintaining the highest levels of hospitality and professionalism in all that we do.  This includes a commitment to safeguarding your privacy and any personal information and data that is entrusted to us.

As you know, in today’s world, it is a constant battle for all businesses and organizations to keep up with the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats.  We have worked hard to ensure a robust cybersecurity program and incident response plan.  Unfortunately, despite our vigilance, we recently experienced a security incident that resulted from the targeting of our information technology system by an unknown, unauthorized third party.  With the help of seasoned security experts, we quickly restored our systems and data from backups and initiated a thorough investigation.

Given the complex nature of the IT intrusion, we have thus far been unable to fully track the activity of the unauthorized individuals in our system to understand exactly what data may have been accessed or removed.  Therefore, although our investigation is ongoing, we made the decision to issue a public notice at this time, to provide information about the incident and recommended steps individuals can take to protect themselves.
