The New Mexico Room61 x 39 x 15 • 2,379 square feet For a real Santa Fe Fiesta flavor, La Fonda’s New Mexico Room is perfect for wedding parties up to 180 people for dining, or 250 for a reception. Brides often choose our colorful table linens and bright paper flowers arranged in hand-crafted hammered-tin centerpieces for a simple, fun décor.
This room was designed when La Fonda was built in 1926 and is a tribute to the timelessness of Southwestern warmth and charm. Guests love the heavy beams carved with traditional Thunderbird designs and the special light that comes from the authentic tin and glass chandeliers and sconces. The gleaming Saltillo tile floors, colorful paintings and art work make this unique place a truly special setting for your special day.
Brides often choose to combine the New Mexico Room and the adjacent Santa Fe Room (below) for a reception or ceremony, followed by dinner and dancing.
The Santa Fe Room25 x 50 x 25 • 1,250 square feet The jewel in our historic crown is the exquisite Santa Fe Room. Stepping through the double doors is like stepping back in time the high ceilings, the colorful banco, wrought iron light fixtures and glass and hammered tin chandeliers make this lovely room especially charming. Fall and winter brides love the wood-burning fireplace! There is a fanciful mural-map of New Mexico and Arizona painted by Ira “Gerald” Cassidy in the 1920s (click here for details and Cassidy and the art of La Fonda) and painted glass windows by our resident artist Ernest Martinez. Adding to the charm are traditional Saltillo tile floors and colorful Mexican trasteros.
Both the Santa Fe Room and the Coronado Room (below) are also just right for a rehearsal dinner or farewell brunch.
The Coronado RoomNo photo currently available For those with intimate wedding celebrations, our Coronado Room is the best choice. It has windows that overlook the Santa Fe Trail and is highlighted with colorful accents and tile floors. |
